Andres Cabrera was born in Cali, Colombia into a rich salsa culture, his whole family was well known all over Cali for their love and skill of salsa. Following family tradition, Andres began to perform and compete when he was 4 years old. He continued doing shows and state wide / international competitions in Colombia until he came to Los Angeles in 1997. His desire to continue with salsa moved him to L.A. to train with the top instructors in the “L.A. Salsa Style”. Andres added to his natural Colombian flavor the “L.A. Salsa Style” to come up with his unique, rich techniques.
Andres now has 6 years of teaching experience on top of a lifetime of dance history. His different dance styles include the Argentine Tango, Cha Cha, and International Latin. He teaches basic and complex patterns as well as partnering techniques. In all of his classes whether its group or private lessons he uses a patient yet discipline approach to ensure his students get the most out of their time with him. Andres’ goal is to share with others what Salsa brings to his own life.
“The only thing I love more than dancing is to teach and see the joy it brings to other people’s lives.”
